Chuffing Through The Country Side
Novelty cakes are are a fantastic way of showing off your creativity and talent as a cake decorator. This 4 tier train cake is a great design to get you started as it requires many different skills, including cake carving, cake stacking, airbrushing and using Pop It 2D cutters.
Remember, you don't have to make all 4 tiers, simply use our tutorial as a guide and let your creativity flow!
Instructions:
2. For the top tier cut off a section from one end of the cake. With the cake stood on its end place onto the cake card, draw the base outline and cut to size. Coat the cake in a thin layer of buttercream and cover with white sugarpaste.
3. Using the cake sectioned off from the top tier trim and shape the cake to create a tunnel for the top. On the remaining cake card draw around the base of the tunnel, coat in buttercream and then with white sugarpaste. Assemble the cakes stacking one on top of the other using the easy cut dowels to support each tier. 4. Take a small amount of sugarpaste and colour it black with colour paste. To create the tunnels roll the sugarpaste out fairly thin and cut out 6 small oval shapes, trimming off the bottom third of each. Set to one side. |
